Next, you want to breathe out what is called a "hard, fast blast." This means that you blow out as hard and fast as you can through the peak flow meter. Do NOT breathe out slow and steady. That will not show how strong your lungs are. Instead, focus on exhaling forcefully and quickly, to move the marker as far as you can with your breath.
